Job Description:

 We are seeking a highly motivated and self-starting Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to join our team. As an FAE, you will play a crucial role in driving customer satisfaction and technical excellence, and you will be a key influencer on Retym securing customer design wins. You will be the bridge between our customers and our engineering team, providing technical expertise, support, and guidance throughout the pre- and post-sales process. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner will be essential to our success. As an early addition to our still-small commercial team, you will also be able to contribute to growing the FAE function and team for our company.

 

Responsibilities:

 1. Technical Support and Customer Engagement:

-       Serve as the primary technical point of contact for our customers, offering expert guidance on the integration, deployment, and troubleshooting of our DSP products.

-       Collaborate with customers to understand their unique requirements, provide customized solutions, and offer technical recommendations to optimize performance.

-       Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical training sessions to customers, both remotely and on-site.

-       Build strong, long-lasting relationships with customers, fostering trust and becoming a trusted advisor for their technical needs.

 2. Pre-Sales Support:

-       Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to support customer evaluations, including hardware setup, software integration, and performance benchmarking.

-       Assist in preparing and delivering technical proposals, feasibility studies, and product specifications to potential customers.

 3. Post-Sales Support:

-       Provide timely and effective technical support to customers, addressing any product-related inquiries, issues, or escalations.

-       Collaborate with internal engineering teams to investigate and resolve customer-reported technical issues.

-       Continuously gather customer feedback, identifying opportunities for product improvement and communicating them to the engineering and product development teams.

Requirements

Requirements:

 -       Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.

-       3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as FAE, applications engineer, or technical sales engineer, within the semiconductor industry.

-       Strong knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals and familiarity with how DSPs work within optical communications modules and equipment.

-       Familiarity with the construction and components inside optical transceiver modules, particularly coherent optics.  Experience with cloud and data center use cases and customers is preferred.

-       Hands-on experience with C coding and API integration, Python, and embedded firmware debug at customer sites.

-       Experience with Hardware interfaces required: I2C, SPI, JTAG.

-       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

-       Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.

-       Capability for setting up new processes to track progress and drive expedient customer satisfaction.

-       Ability and willingness to travel, often internationally, up to 40% of the time to support customer engagements, attend trade shows, and conduct on-site technical visits.

-       Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, particularly with technical staff.
